The Christ Church Cathedral
Organ was built in 1957. It is being
replace by an instrument by another builder.
It has been slightly altered since its installation by the replacement
of the Swell Cymbal, 16' Bassoon, and 8' Fagott with new pipework, and the
addition of an 8' Trompette to the Choir and electronic 32' Bourdon to the
Pedal.
Those who have presided at its
console are Parvin Titus, Gerre Hancock, and Bruce Neswick, to name a few. The range of timber in this outstanding
instrument is quite broad. It is
appropriate to a medium sized room.
The
asking price for the organ is $75,000.00 and it must be removed by Summer
2018. The cost to remove, update,
restore, reconfigure, install and voice to the new home is in the area of
$700,000.00.
